Baader MPCC + TS 9mm OAG + Nikon ?

Sorry I could not find this by searching the site ...

Does anyone know if the TS 9mm OAG will fit between a Baader MPCC and a Nikon camera with the correct 55mm spacing?

And if so, do you know what adaptors to order with the OAG to achieve it?

(BTW, I've sent an email to TS and I am waiting for a reply. I'll post it here when I get in case anyone else is interested. ).

Thanks guys

Mike

Well for Canons the Baader MPCC screws right into the threads of the bayonet fitting with just the thin thread adaptor. I can't see how anything else could go in there without messing up the spacing.

The answer from TS is no. It will work with a Cannon but not a Nikon.

Does anyone use a coma corrector + OAG with a nikon?

If you do, would you mind telling me the details and how satisfied you are with your setup?

Thanks
Mike

you need the 0mm bayonet, as glen says they are canon only... you could consider the RCCI instead.

it has 91.5mm spacing rather than 55mm that the MPCC uses.

Thanks Russell

I see in your signature block that you have the TSAG9 and the RCCI; do you use these together? Are you happy with them?

I read recently on a thread somewhere that the RCCI is very senitive to collimation and image plane perpendicularity and hence tube flex can be a problem. Have you found that to be the case?

Thanks
Mike

No worries Mike.

I do indeed, i used it for both the MPCC and the RCCI, i switched to the RCCI as i wanted to use filters so now i have enough space for a filter draw (plus i have a spacer to help make up the 91.5mm).

I haven't had any issues with the RCCI, probably more issues with the TSOAG9, I actually don't like it that much, while it is good for the MPCC (if you have a canon dslr) is very thin and has a bunch of adapters for it and does the job; the stalk connection isn't sturdy and hard to lock into position. Saying that i have absolutely zero experience with other OAGs but i feel there have to be better ones out there ....
