Thanks for all the responses! Very informative. Out of the non cooled cameras, looks like the newer models are getting better with noise.

Well thanks for starting the thread!

If anything, it makes a compelling case for CCDs. By the time you pay for one of the latest SLRs and modding, a little bit more and you're in dark Ccd territory
