New PixInsight Magazine launched

A really, really great read. LOTS of relevant processing info and images. Also discusses new processing scripts that are in the works from various developers and how they are written. Even if you don't own PixInsight, it's definitely worth a serious gander with 45 pages of top material.

Hi Chris,

We are proud to announce the birth of a new project: PixInsight Magazine:

http://magazine.pixinsight.com/

The first issue of PixInsight Magazine is now available as a PDF document in two versions: 150 dpi (low resolution version for screen visualization) and 600 dpi (high resolution version suitable for printing).

PixInsight Magazine is a direct consequence of the current state of PixInsight. As the above page states in its introduction, the PixInsight community generates a growing amount of knowledge, development projects and outstanding astrophotographic works. PixInsight Magazine is our effort to provide an appropriate communication medium to all the creativity and innovation that is being generated around PixInsight.

But this project is even more than that. We want to establish an electronic publication open to the whole astrophotography world, suitable to gather multidisciplinary contributions from both the amateur and professional astronomy communities. According to that goal, PixInsight Magazine's subject matter is broad by design: astrophotography, image processing --from practical processing tutorials and examples to theoretical works--, software development, instrumentation, astronomy and astrophysics, science outreach and related disciplines.

In the same line, PixInsight Magazine is open to everyone, both inside and outside the PixInsight community, so your collaboration is essential. For article submissions please contact us at magazine@pixinsight.com.

Thank you for your support and we hope that you'll enjoy PixInsight Magazine.

Yes, they're and amazing team behind Pixinsight and it all just keeps getting better and better by the month.

Processing tools and techniques obviously a very personal thing, but I believe PI already has the capability to surpass PS and other programs in the right hands. Very competitive program, and the mag shows the amount of brains behind it all. Juan, Vincent and et definitely not afraid to think outside the box. Much of Rogelio's APOD work done on PI too if anyone needs further convincing (http://blog.deepskycolors.com/)
