another new member

Hello everyone,
after lurking about these forum pages for a little while I decided to join.
I am new to astronomy and get a lot of enjoyment from stargazing.
Currently I am using a Dob 250mm goto and a Skywatcher 150mm on a goto mount.

The boss and I enjoy travelling with our camper trailer and the plan is take a scope with us so that we can experience some dark skies.

I am sure I will have many questions as I attempt to navigate the skies.

cheers and clear skies
Rob

Welcome.
We too, do a lot of travelling with our Cub camper trailer - at least two trips annually on the Spirit of Tas to get us to the mainland. We travel with two scopes and all the gear packed in the canopy on the back of our ute.

A coincidence indeed Rob.
Here is an image of our travelling rig on the roadside in the Little Desert, Western Victoria. Another CUB Traveller! We bought ours in May 2017 and we have had some great times in it. Our next Mainland trip is booked for March-April 2020. We plan to attend the March Snake Valley Astro Camp as we did two years ago.
Steve.

Hello and welcome Rob,
Have you been to the Canberra Astronomical Society meetings yet?
We have club dark sky nights at Michelago and at Bellmount Forest as well as Observatory nights at Mt Stromlo.
Cheers,
Matt
