Thumbs up I'm coming from far far away !

Hi everybody,

My name is Philippe, I'm 33 years old and ... I'm a French astronomer.
Sky is a passsion, astronomy too since 2010 !!!
My english isn't very good ... no comment !

My equipment is :
*** Sumerian Optics Alkaïd 12"
*** WO Megrez 90mm on GiRo Mini
*** Strock 10" (under progress !!! )

ONLY VISUAL !!!

Why am I here ?! Because I'm searching some good places and good persons for my next travel in Australia. I will be 2 months in your country. So there's some good luck for meeting Australian astronomers ! Have you got some tips ?

PS: it's very funny because the french forum seems to be the same as yours ! Look ! : http://www.webastro.net/forum/

See you soon and clear sky.

HellooOo Colin,

Surely Melbourne, yes.

But nothing is determined. My sweetheart and me would like to go around Australia in campervan. There will be a lot of destinations !
I want to discover Australia's nature but NGC too !!!

Clear skies.

Hi Malcolm,

It depends on my administration. I will know that in the middle of June. There're good chances for the month of September ...

Hi Lindon,

Impatience rises gradually !

Clear skies.

September should be good, the skies begin to clear around Melbourne - yet is still eastern standard time so its dark early.

if you want a private tour of old melbourne observatory send me a pm & ill take you for a look.

the State astro society [ASV] also hold a star party on Sept 12th, at the club dark sky site [approx 120km from Melb]..the skies are quite dark, & there will be many telescopes
