Bitten by a bug in the back yard on Saturday Night

Hey
Last Saturday night I was in the back yard and got bitten by a bug.
I was breaking all the rules, I was using an unmodified colour mirror-less camera, it's pixels are too big for the resolution of the scope, I was using ISO gain, and the shots were unguided and less than 20 seconds!
But wow I was amazed at what was revealed. I've been bitten by the astrophotography bug, and I'm not sure if it's going to wear off!!
Nothing that's worth sharing, compared to the amazing work seen on this site, but I'm a happy camper and will keep on learning.

Just thought I share the sense of wonder, just being young again!

Cheers.

Great stuff Garth. It's pretty amazing what a bit of electronic help can do.
Hope you've got deep pockets

My commiserations, Garth

Just kidding... it's a fantastic pursuit, but frustrating and rewarding often at the same time.

Cheers,
Rick.

Frustrating, rewarding, expensive, time consuming, fiddly, confusing .... yep, it's great fun !

The one big thing it has done for me is taught me. Heaps. I've learned more about my earlier photography hobby than I could mention, more about the world about me the skies above me. Technical skills and intellectual skills. Software and Photoshop knowledge.

And it has introduced me to some of the nicest, most interesting people I have ever conversed with.

All for a small investment .... Yeah Right !!
Enjoy and learn.

Garth, fortunately I haven't been bitten by the imaging bug but I did have one of the moments your describing last Saturday. I was cruising the moon with my wonderful refractor and the pure pleasure of the experience simply filled me. It's been a long time since I sponantiously broke into tuneless-song but I did that night.
I wish you well, remember food is optional coffee and a good scope are not.
Cheers
David
