The Milky Bar

Howdy Astro-liano's
Had a few nights visiting sis-in-law, Gatton'ish SEQLD so, took along the newly acquired 'Astro-Tracker', Dslr 600D and some lenses for a burn !
But, who forgot a decent battery and a Dew-strap or two
So, I was mainly stuck under the Veranda, which worked out beneficial enough

This Image below Taken with the Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm; F/4.5;
Stock Canon 700D; ISO3200; 14 x 60 secs
Processed in DSStacker & CS3

Hope its worth the Squizz

Nice Milky Way detail, Bob. According to the "500 rule" with a 10mm lens you should be able to go 50 secs untracked with no star trails being visible. If you're using a tracker there's not much point in doing 60 sec subs. You should easily be able to increase your individual subs to 5 mins or more with a 10mm lens.

Cheers Graeme, & Agree totally with longer subs, speshly at 10mm,
Was quite fussy with polar alignment and quite happy with near zero trailing using the 'L' series 70-200mm @ 200mm for 60 secs
Could of extended the exposures to just see what limits where had, but only did 'run-of-the-mill' stuff, so hopefully the next session should yield better results
Appreciate your input mate

I just say Gatton'ish as most seqldérs know roughly where it is, , I was actually at a little place call Grandchester,,, 'bout 6-8ks ESE of Laidley, Quite an Iconic area for the Steam-Powered Coal-Trains back in the day, ,
