Boast your Posts on IIS

Have been noticing the high number of posts by members compared to my own meagre contribution.

Eg Alex (Xelaxevans) has a whopping 7,564!! I think I have around 350. Who has the largest number of posts ever on IIS?

Be proud...who's the mostest?

Just a post to boost my post counter

Seriously, from that list most of the top people are still active (logged in date) and most of them joined over 10 years ago!!!

There are lots of folk with way more than me ...
My excuse is I don't participate in any other forums ..there was another for a little while but I have given up on them.
Mike must be over 35,000.
I post because I don't go out or socialise...much...and often iceinspace is my only contact with the outside world...once even when I was not watching TV or had the radio on and in the bush weeks on end I would come here.

So rather than boast my post I think it is a sad reflection of how anti social and hermit like I am most of the time.
And boasting is not a thing to encourage it walks hand in hand with vanity and pride each and all do not belong to one with decent values I would think...not judging others but I try and set a humble style for myself.

And the top three are admins
I administrated a forum very similar to this architecture years ago and it allowed me to manipulate my post count.

Well while posting you have been given a list.
That list is evidence that I don't post that much.

And at the end of the day, all high post count means is that a person has verbal diarrhoea.

Case in point

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of post counts by topic, as so many seem to be casual general conversational exchanges, ie people using IIS as a social media application, or messaging app. Private message count would also be interesting. I moderate another forum (non-astro) and moderators always have higher counts due to the work they do. I often wonder about the 'hijack count'.

Number of posts divided by number of years as a member shows a better picture.

I only post general chat these days although just recently I have posted in other spots.
I avoid giving advice these days as there are many others better equipped and up to date with products and methods.
Once I would post as a crackpot in the science section in an effort to draw out real scientists and generate activity there.
I like just looking at the latest photos and reading about diy projects...I like to be not logged in cause I often use someone else's computer but some kind folk wonder if I am OK...I think family look in here to see if I am still alive...

You as a devil's advocate Alex...? Never!

Most people enjoy your posts my friend. Maybe you should write a book or magazine article on something esoteric.

Its because I lack confidence and when things go quiet I feel pressured to say something.

On another forum I used to be very active on, whenever someone drew attention to their high post count the forum admin would change it to some low number (below 10)

and find they join and never post again, I did, it is amazing, once joined you never hear from them again
