Dr Who 50th Anniversary at the Cinema

Who-hooo!

My wife has booked a couple of tickets to the Dr Who 50th Anniversary Special at the cinema and it is in 3d!

This Sunday at 1.00pm is the time slot so I am going to have to stay off the 'net until then so there is no spoilers(in your best River Song voice).

Very excited, first time ever to see the Doctor on the big screen and in 3d! I don't care what others have thought , I have enjoyed Matt Smith as the Doctor and will be sad to see him go.

Any one else going to the cinema?

I'm dressing the part too.
Going as a gender swapped 10th Doctor. Lolol
Wearing a 10th Doctor tshirt from thinkgeek, a really feminine brown gauze jacket, jeans and maroon runners. And of course I'll be carrying my prof cox signed sonic screw driver.
I'm going to be real annoyed if no one else makes the effort.

Sounds like fun JJ! Who cares if no one else dresses up. It's all about your level of fun.

just saw it on tv

I'm in the UK travelling in Wales as it happens Snowdonia, not Cardiff and not on a Dr Who fan trip!

Just saw the episode on BBC tv. Ties up a lot of loose ends. No more spoilers. Enjoy.

We went last night and my daughter and her friends all dressed up. About half of the cinema were dressed up. Good fun.
I used to work as a projectionist during my uni days and have seen many films as a result. Very rarely does an audience applause at the end of a show.
There was spontaneous applause when the film finished. I think that this was wonderful and demonstrates the level of enthusiasm.

Didn't see too many people dressed up and I left my sonic at home. Damn!

One young fella was dressed like Tom Baker down to a T, he looked great.

Enjoyed it very much however it is out of sync. I thought it would have more to do with Trenzalore although that seems like it is going to be covered in the Xmas Special and then we have to wait until Northern Hemisphere Autumn before Season 8 kicks off.

According to the article in the SMH there is a 5 min youtube clip that precedes the show. I havent seen it but I think it fills in the gap.
