Loving my new Drone!

Hey guys

It's been ages since I've posted any pics.. I got a new (second hand) drone for xmas/bday.. a DJI Mavic Pro.

I'm loving it! Lots of opportunities.. still figuring out the best shots to capture, but like all photography, it's about the location, the light and the angles.

I like the top-down birds-eye type shots, but some angled ones look good too..

I played around on Xmas Day and Boxing Day at home and at Terrigal, and here's a couple of folders on Google Drive with the pics and videos.

I think I prefer doing photography rather than videography, but the videos are another medium to explore.. I need to get better at processing to keep the scenes shorter and more punchy etc. without speeding up the clips.

Check them out here:
* Xmas Day : 1 video, 12 photos
* Boxing Day : 1 video, 10 photos

Amazing machines the Mavic Pro aren’t they! Have one myself and love to get out and explore with it.
Have you tried the googles? I find I fly more with them now than without them.....really puts you in the pilot seat!
I really find the photographic side of things a lot more interesting than the video.....there’s only so much slow moving/high flying footage I can handle before getting bored.....pics on the other hand are much more immersive I find

Brilliant gift! There are some excellent photo opportunities open to a good drone going where a person couldn't. I've seen some incredible headland shots, and sunrises from very cool vantages.
Have fun Mike.
