M 20; + fleet of UFOs

From last night with the moon close by this one is all wrong!

This is 5x5min Canon 50d mod with 12inMeadeACF.
Custom white balance that I use in daytime - without the IDAS P2 light pollution filter.

Result is a predominantly green hue with doughnuts that calibration failed to remove.

How wrong is that!

GlennB

pps 22Jun2019 shot added - with custom WB including the IDAS LPS p2 filter and 15x5min subs. I still see one big ufo which I wouldnt expect to see with calibration, unless I bungled something..? I did use 6 sec sky flats which I havent done before.

What an interesting colour Glenn. Reminds me of the colours in a copper flame. There’s an interesting spot in the lower center of the Nebula that almost looks like a moon crater.

Yes, it came out green instead of the red nebulosity all over! So much for custom white balance. Maybe I need a new CWB with the filter included... easy enough to do.

That mark is one of several. Its gotta be dust... I haven't had a subject where the flats haven't removed the dust doughnuts so it was a new one for me. Maybe the moonlight angle of attack being different from that of the lightbox caused that...some sort of interference pattern.

Always something new!
