Andrew thanks for that reply.

After doing extensive research i have decided to purchase the FLI Microline 8300 with a 7 position filter wheel CFW 2-7

It was a close race between the Starlight Xpress SXVR-H814 and this FLI ML8300

But for my scope it was better to get the KAF 8300 sensor based imager as the image scale fell below 1arcsec/pixel with the SXVR H814 and wasnt the best for my optical setup.

the total cost was $5479 from Astro Optical products in Artarmon NSW.
Bintel quoted $6448 and i didnt want to haggle or ask for any discounts.

Now i just have to decide on the filters.
being a 2' filerwheel is it necessary to get unmounted filters given the small size of the KAF 8300 chip?

Is there a significant difference with mounted vs unmounted at this stage. the unmounted filters are more expensive (and i dont understand why when less components and work goes into making them).

I am considering the Astronomic range of filters are they significantly cheaper than Astrodon and have good reviews.
I will be getting LRGB, QIII, SII, Ha and NII

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

The decision has once again been changed. The order for the FLI ML8300 was cancelled as the 41mm shutter version was discontinued and the only one available was the 45mm version for an additional $400 which I couldn't justify paying that extra for.

So I have come full circle and placed an order for the
QSI 683wsg-8
Astronomik LRGB 31mm unmounted filters
Astrodon 5nm OIII, SII, Ha 31mm unmounted filters.

Still deciding on the guide cam. Lodestar VS QHY5L-ii

If anyone has any further suggestions please let me know.
But thanks to all your helpful input I have made what I feel is a sound decision.

Thanks again..

John
