Where do I get a peltier cooler element?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a 50-60w 12v peltier element/pad. I am thinking of trying to cool my canon 300d with one. I have plenty of heatsinks and fans so just after the cooler element. Looked around the net without much luck except some larger onesused for cpu coolers. I want to get in Aus if possible..
Any help appreciated..
Cheers Gary

If jaycar doesn't have it, try farnell - they have everything :-)

Thanks Tony and Bird,
Went to jaycar and found them...thanks...funny google dosn`t come up with them? I`m thinking of a different approch on cooling the sensor on my 300d from the front with T adaptor and 2" barrel not from the back or tripod socket like others I have seen. Shall be a interesting experiment. Shall post a thread if its sucessful..
Cheers Gary....

Would appear to be a relatively easy mod: http://ghonis2.ho8.com/rebelpeltier.html

Not sure how efficient it would be from the front...

Could potentially be adapted to other cameras/models.
Good luck

Thanks Jase,
I have seen Gary Honis and Terry Lovejoys pages quiet a few times,
I don`t want to operate on the camera again and just through the tripod adaptor seems a rather poor way to cool the cmos..
I`m thinking of a 2" telescope adaptor with a cold finger inside consisting of a copper tube insert just infront of the t thread adaptor. Totally sealed with the front end having a clear filter warmed by resistors on the outside to stop dew forming. Hopefully the air inside will get down close to 0 c which should cool the cmos during exposures while the shutter is open. Not sure how well it will work as the ir/uv filter sits over the cmos and how much cool air can flow into the camera?. But will give it a go and if no good will go with Terrys setup. At least will drop the noise by 20%..
Good for those hot summers nights..
Cheers Gary

Gary I think you may find getting a little "car cooler" from Dick Smiths is the cheapest way to go. I am doing what you are planning at the moment. Mine was on special and they appear that way from time to time ($25). You can use the "box"to house the camera. I posted my unit here I thought or maybe it was on astronomydaily.com but I will have a look and post the link...otherwise give me a couple of days and I will post new photos. Using the "box"gives you a great metal liner, a lid with hinge already in place, a fan in place and even a switch..minor things but makes the project so easy.

Here is my post at astornomydaily

I have not run it yet but will be next time out seeing it is getting hotter.. I backed off on completion as I was buying a 400d (they may not need cooling from what I can gather) but as I have put off buying a 400d getting the cool camera going is top of my list and its the next project set to be completed.

It's the last resort if nobody else has what you need.
