Woodshed Cabins, in centennial glen, this is the valley west of Shipley plateau, out of Blackheath, good observing right at the doorstep.
There are quite a few other weekenders you can rent in Blackheath or on Shipley plateau if you don't mind a 5 minute drive to a spectacular lookout.
The two lookouts on Shipley plateau - Hargraves and Mt Blackheath - are superb places to do some casual observing. Both behave plenty of space for scopes. This is what awaits you at Hargraves

These are both at over 1000m and quite exposed to wind so they can be cold. Centennial glen on the other hand is protected from wind as its in the walled valley - however it is all private land and you have to be staying there to observe or the owner will throw you out.
