Large meteor last night Melbourne 9.45pm

I saw a large slow meteor last night from Melbourne at 9.45pm through broken cloud. It traveled from north to south just to the east of the southern cross and exploded into pieces about at the SCP. Great to see.
Anyone else?

Dave, are you able to post an observation report on the facebook group Australian Meteor Reports, with your exact location and details of what you witnessed?

Fragmentation suggests the possibility of meteorites being produced, however if you didn't hear any sonics and fragmentation occured to the south of you, any rocks produced from this event may have fallen over the ocean.
