IYA2009 Special Projects

From IYA2009site:
Quote:
Although the focus of the global activities will be on these Cornerstones, it is acknowledged that these are certainly not the only big projects that will contribute to the vision and goals of IYA2009. It is for this reason that a category within the global structure has been set aside for “IYA2009 Special projects”. These projects provide extra means to achieve the IYA2009's main goals and objectives. The category of IYA2009 Special projects is intended to give large global projects (which satisfy the vision of IYA2009) greater international recognition and an opportunity to link with celebrations worldwide.
The special projects listed so far are:
  • The World at Night
  • 400 Years of the Telescope
  • Galilean Satellites
  • Around the World...
  • Exoplanet Hunters
  • 1919 Eclipse
  • The Sky - Yours to Discover

Once more information is known about these special projects or about how you can get involved, i'll post here.

That Exoplanet Hunters documentary sounds fascinating. I wonder how much they'll actually disclose about the "competition".
