Milky Way close up

22x60secs @85mm ISO1600, no darks etc: Nano Tracker. Canon 600D.
This image has suffered quite badly by the downsizing.

Up late Raymo!

My sky was blotted out by smoke. Never happened before.

So is the bright star Canopus? I can't work it out.

Nice field by the way.

Nice capture Raymo, looks like you have your PA all sorted out with the Nano Tracker. As you have proven, you can take these trackers way beyond the recommended parameters. In regard to the resampling, I upload a .jpg file of around 1 megabyte, the IIS compression algorithm reduces it to around the 200 kilobyte for me and does a pretty decent job at retaining the detail. Give that a go.

Hi Pete, yes, it is Canopus. Orion had gone from my field of view, and as said later in this post
my options are limited.
Hi Mick, that was how I did it, the image was just under a Mb.
I am very restricted as to where I can point my camera because it contacts
the nano tracker; I'm waiting for a second ball joint to arrive so I will have
much more clearance between the camera and the nano. I am also
severely restricted by street lights.
