I'd say 5k-10k. That may actually be under and I think 10k-15k is more like it, but now my head hurts thinking about it!! I also am lucky, my wife enjoys visual astronomy with me, and loves the crappy images I take, so win-win for me!!

At present my equipment has very little value to me as it rarely gets used.

I must admit that I have very little interest in using it at the moment. Perhaps if I get settled into a new job...

...For me ,being fairly new to the interest it`s a case of the sum of the parts. To get it all at once would definitely appear different on the bottom line.Could add to the 10k without too much difficulty.Lolly shop syndrome!!

How much is my gear worth ? good question .

Too much to publically advertise in a public forum I expect , there are villians and thieves out there .

Also it depends on the current exchange rate .

Same reason why I don't list my gear in my profile here and elsewhere.

Of the 68 posts in this thread, only a handfull have openly said what they consider their gear is worth.
The poll itself is anonymous.

I am not sure how much my gear is worth I paid $58 dollars for all that is listed in my SIG could some one give me an idea what it is worth. I got very lucky at our local recycling center apparently it came from a school the mirror needs recoating but I haven't noticed that it makes a lot of difference to what I can see. But I will get the mirror recoated eventually

"how much is your equipment worth" ..... Not half as much as the time to be able to use it!

re whats it worth

I am really not impressed with this thread, where are the moderators!

I do not think its appropriate, for a number of reasons.

1,why would anybody want to advertise on a public forum

what they have and its worth,we have allready had one member on this site loose a flourite telescope to a theif,i changed my items list
very quickly after that, like other members did.

2,i really think its a bit 'offish' with the ego bit, some members starting

out, have very little, and even less budgets,it can/could be of putting.

I think the moderators are should think about this thread.

One thing good, about it.is talk on insurance-i have disscussed this with my agent, may be a thread could be started on that subject.

Regards C

To scary to think about. whats even more scary is the amount that I use, it's not half of what I own.

No one is putting a gun to anyones head and telling them to post so why would the admins get involved. we are all grown up's here a free to do as we please as long as no one gets hurt.

Anyway, If you get robbed you have to look at it on the brightsidem, at least your alive, and you know have the chance to UPGRADE!!!

Ooohhhh, wash my mouth out with soap.

Have a great weekend guys, I'll be paying you all visit over the weekend ...mwahahahahaah!!!

1. The poll is anonymous. You can't tell how much my gear is worth or what I voted, can you?

2. You don't have to post to it.

3. If you want to break into my place and steal my gear, best of luck. Just remember to wear a helmet that deflects baseball bats.

4. If you come over on a night I'm not home and my family isn't there, well done and have at it. I could do with some new gear.

Well, I originally voted 1-5k, but now it's over 5k with my recent purchases ;-)

I had a good laugh at Troy's response. Like Troy, you wouldn't want to try and steal from my place. Let's just say I ask questions later after the damage has been done. 'nuff said.

Good one, Dave. We just had 3 posts pointing out how anonymous it is, and you go and lay it all out in the open.
