New TAK 100DZ

New TAK100DZ

Today Takahashi announces the newest addition to its refractor lineup, the FC-100DZ. The FC-100DZ is an evolution of the FC-100 series, providing high optical performance across the full range of the visible spectrum.

TAKAHASHI ANNOUNCES ITS LATEST 4-INCH REFRACTOR TELESCOPE

Takahashi FC-100DZ Telescope Available Fall 2019

Mechanically, the FC-100DZ has a tube diameter of 95 mm and a retractable dew shield. With the dew shield retracted and accessories removed, the total length is only 595 mm, easily carried on most commercial flights.

The FC-100DZ utilizes the same focuser used on the FC-100DF and DL and weighs approximately 3.8 kg.

We are currently taking pre-orders, and the FC-100DZ is expected to be available in August or September of 2019. The retail price for the base model is $2,850.

I'd be interested to see if Tak has been able to make a proper APO out of doublet. Its been many years since the FS series and they must have learnt a thing or two.

Agena scopes seems to think they can and have graphs to prove it. Although I would like to see some real world results from them.

There is something special about looking through a Tak and until you have spent some time with one it would be hard to understand and the TAK100DZ would be right up my street being only visual at F8, Would be nice to hear from anyone who has had a peek through one..........

I'd be interested in the results. I wonder what they have changed from the FS series to make a difference.

Yes Agema with its impressive graphs of their fluorite doublets.

But to be fair those small Taks require the corrector lens and that makes it at least a quadruplet.
