Imaged M17 last night which is located in Sagittarius at about 6000 light years from earth
Whilst less than half the size of M8 it’s one of my favourite Nebula’s to image as it has so much detail and unique colours
30 x 5 minute dithered guided subs
20 x darks
Canon 600D unmodded with Baader coma corrector
ISO 800
BYEOS
PHD2
EQMOD and Stellarium for Goto and tracking
No moon around until after 1.00pm and Bortle 3 to 4 skies
Seeing was only average last night
Stacked in DSS
Processed in Startools
That's very nice Martin, you've taken advantage of those darker skies to produce a well balanced picture of this colourful nebula. Your processing has brought out the best in and around this object with good star colour and contrast.
