Green laser pointers

Hi, I want to buy a green laser pointer for pointing out celestial objects to family/friends. As a member of an astronomical society I can apply for a permit. Looking on ebay & amazon there are so many options - I wonder if members can narrow the choice down for me? Thanks for advice

As a member of an Astronomy club you don't need a permit to carry one or use it for Astronomy purposes. Astronomy club members are exempt from requiring a permit.

I am in NSW so maybe confirm your states Regs.

You only need the permit if you want to import one. I would not go down that path. It can get very complicated.

Just buy one from an Aussie seller on EBay and there won't be any problems. There are a few.

Thanks for advice - my Astronomy association, ASSA, does have an application form for a permit.
I've found a few reasonably priced pointers on ebay (Aussie based) so will try that. : )
