Comet Wirtanen Dec 7th

Taken with my Canon 600D and Evostar 72ED scope from Kurrajong.
Naked eye. Mag about 5. Lovely in binoculars. Big and diffuse.
Weather and waxing moon will not help viewing this week.

Thanks Joe. It is a lovely little scope. Looking forward to trying it with a Canon 6D.

Richard.

Richard, lovely image.

But there's something I don't get - how come the brighter stars have a diffraction pattern around them when you've used a refractor?

Alex.

Hi Alex,

I put in the spikes with a plug-in in photoshop as an effect. I get spikes normally with the Newtonian. I just like their appearance.

Richard.
