Leitz Ortholux 2 microscope

Hi,
Just testing if someone would be interested in purchasing a German microscope: Leitz Ortholux 2, in excellent condition. The microscope is in storage ( has been for the last 8 years), not used after being serviced around 2007.
Thanks,
Zbyszek
Some photos as requested.

According to the:http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/...itz-ortho.html,
The Leitz Orthoplan and Leitz Ortholux II are two of the best microscopes of the 20th century.
Leitz changed its name to Leica Microsystems. The name speaks for itself. If you want the best in optical world, Leica and Zeiss will be at the top of the list.
My price is $1300.
Price reduced. Now $1100.
Open to reasonable offers.

Thanks,
Zbyszek

I'd love a microscope to play around with, but I know nothing about them. I take it this is a relatively expensive instrument, beyond the usual budget for "I bet the kids would love this"?

Hi,
You can find some info on the microscope on the net. It is a research grade microscope I have been given at my workplace. Myself, I just packed it away hoping to get back to it some day but it has been quite a while since I got it. Better if it is used. But it is not a $200 microscope. I could unpack it and put a photo of it online. Shipping cost would be high so most likely pickup. Just thinking aloud here. I may advertise it elsewhere, come to think of it.
Thanks for your enquiry.
