Solar viewing

Do I need to align my telescope to the Southern Celestial Pole when viewing the sun?

Hi Colin

First question - are you absolutely certain your telescope is safe to point at the sun?

If it isn't you are likely to loose an eye! Or two, if you take two chances!

Otherwise, it is hard to know how it should be set up without knowing what it is.
