Using ED80 FF/FR on ED72

I've heard rumours that the Skywatcher ED80 reducer is identical to the ED72 reducer just with a different attachment adapter for the two different focusers. Just wondering if theres any validity in this statement and its like any other reducers in that they cover a range of focal lengths. Currently, astroanarchy seems to be the only one advertising the new reducer and at a higher price than the other reducers ($375 compared to $295 of ED80 reducer). Adding the 2" adapter ($40), its still cheaper than buying the ED72 reducer by itself AND you get the added bonus of having the ability to mount a 2" filter. Any help would be great!

Thanks
Tony
