I am interested in it as a portable mount. Could you tell me how heavy the mount is, that is the part you have to lift onto the tripod. I have a EQ6pro so a comparison to that would do, Bintel's site doesn't give that info.

Why do you prefer the EQ6? over this?

Hi Roger,

In terms of portability AVX is better. I used to move it to Alfresco from backyard with GSO RC 8” (around 8KG) attached, comfortably. Without OTA its super portable.
I think its fair to say AVX+OTA = EQ6Pro.
In terms of quality (not sure if its an issue with my belt mod EQ6Pro), OTA when attached to the EQ6Pro shows more vibrations while the mount being moved/slewed manually, even at rate 2. However, the mount movement was much much smoother with AVX.

Thanks

Ok, the EQ6 are notorious for being noisy when slewing.
Ok if the AVX is still for sale I am interest perhaps you could PM me with your address phone number etc and I can come and look at it, would you require cash or bank transfer?

Regards
Roger
