(free) micro-adjust calibration software for Canons

Just came across this software this morning and thought it might interest you guys. It's to assist you in setting up the micro-adjust calibration for each lens with the newer bodies that have this feature. eg the 5DII, 7D, 50D on. This page tells you about it:

But the latest version is here:

The preview of the next release looks pretty slick:

Might give it a go this weekend.

There are toys you can buy to help, like Lens Align Pro: http://michaeltapesdesign.com/lensalign.html

Thankfully, every lens I've bought has been spot on, with no need for microadjustment.

Also, those lens align products are such a rip off. You can get freebie charts that you display on your screen and take images of them from 50x focal length of the lens.

No arguments here about the Lens Align products. I meant to mention above that there are plenty of DIY solutions too.

I haven't had any noticeable focus issue with my 5DII and lenses either. Well, none that aren't my fault/user error etc. I did have a front focus issue with my 40D that I only noticed when I got the 35L and shot wide open. Had to send the camera away for calibration, because it was the last body that didn't have the microadjust function.

I've been meaning to go through and check in detail all my current lenses on the 5DII, but haven't given it the time. Might have a play this weekend.
