Toucam and raw images - 2nd chance

Hi fellow noobies,

I took my moon eclipse images with the toucam in raw colour mode. Once you have captured the video of a planet, then you use another freeware program called Aviraw to transform this into a colour video, but hopefully more detail than if you had the toucam in normal factory default mode.

I did take some mars shots the other night, but they were overexposed. I worked this out from Rumples instructions to look at the histogram in registax and check where the red, green & blue are.

So in summary:

Convert toucam over to raw colour mode
Take video
Aviraw to convert to nomal avi
Bink and smacker to convert to bmp's
ppmcentre to centre the bmp's
stack em in registax!

will try tonight on mars weather permitting!

Hi Dave. Call me dumb....(most do)....but can you please explain the benefit of converting the AVI to BMPs? I just run the straight AVI in registax & stack the frames?

u have tracking, so image stays in middle of screen.

for non tracking, image moves across the screen.

so if i convert to bmp, i can centre them on the screen and registax likes that more!!!

if i could centre a avi, i would and then into registax
