fisheye lens

Have got the lens disease ...... have got the 'nifty fifty' which is great, (also have 70-300 Canon F/4-5.6).... but was outside in wee hours, and the little fella wont fit Orion in .... am after a fisheye lens or very wide angle, for those gorg panoramic milky way shots ... at about $500, yeh, I see most are dearer. On previous thread I see mention of a Zenitar M f/2,8/16mm for $270 Inclu delivery, on Ebay. Any suggestions or comments, ta.

fisheye freak

I am fisheye freak on another forum. I have 5 fisheyes and am usually on the hunt for others. The Zenitars have a POOR reputation , purchase is not recommended. For the curious, I have a full frame 30mm fisheye for my medium format SLR , 17mm f/4 full frame rectangular fisheye , Sigma 8mm f/4 circular fisheye , 7mmm f/5.6 Hanimex prototype circular fisheye and a 10-17mm f/3.5 fisheye zoom for my digital Pentax. The fisheye zoom is probably the one to go for . From what I gather, this lens is made by Tokina and can be found in Canon mount. Another lens which would be nice to own(alas not made for pentax digital coverage) is the Sigma 4.5 mm f/2.8 circular fisheye about $480 on ebay.
