Tripod Recommendations for Spotting Scope Photography

Can anyone recommend a good sturdy tripod, with a pan/tilt head, with standard screw mount into the base of my scope. Scope is Celestron 80mm Trailseeker.
Currently I have it on an old (mid-1970s) Slik SL-76 camera tripod and the legs are just too spindley.
Would like to keep the cost down so don't suggest a Berlebach please.
This is not a tripod for bushwalking, hide, use; it will be used standing or seated.

Hi Glen,

You could try a Manfrotto 075B tripod ~5kg , with a 501 "fluid" type head (very smooth) or possibly 136 head. If you want something lighter but still heftyish then try a 055B type tripod~3kg. The 136 HEAD makes a very good wedge for something like a SW AZ GTI and uses large hexagonal quick release plates. You can get lucky secondhand for reasonable prices.

Best
