Converting Slides to modern media storage

Hi

My father came over today with a large box of old slides, still in ther orginak old orange 'Agfa' boxes,a lot of family history there! going back forty years! Also got the orginal old projector-made in Australia,I think
by 16 milimetre company.I will post photos and details.

I blew the cb webbs out,all works well, had a radom look at a few slides
some amazing stuff, some of 'Birdlife Park' on the Gold Coast.which is now
"Sea World".

Anyhow,I need to get some of these converted to modern media storage,is it possible? How? where?.

I hope some one can help me here,I really want to preserve these memories.

Thanks Chris

Chris,

Places like Harvey Norman have slide scanning facilities.

There's probably better and cheaper places, I've never had the need to do it.

I'm sure there's someone here who was discussing this very thing not so long ago. A quick search might find the thread.

Aldi were selling a little USB slide scanning setup for just this use about two weeks ago. IIRC, price was about $25. You may still find some in their stores. This week they're selling a USB microscope gizmo......

I bought a USB Negative scanner, can't remember where I got it from but more economical if you expect to do a lot.
