Comet Lovejoy and Galaxy from Suburbia

At last a respite from clouds and rain!
I've been following the posts about Comet Lovejoy so went searching last night. Easily visible in 10 x 50 binoculars.

Took this quick shot with my 15cm F5 reflector and Canon DSLR from my home in Carlingford. Also, managed to pick up an adjacent Galaxy - does anyone know its designation?

Also, a couple of very bright Geminids added to a good night.

Hope the comet continues to brighten. Thanks Terry.

Cheers,

Hi Allan,

With some processing there appears to be a faint tail. I think it would come out better in an image taken from a dark sky location.

regards,

Richard.

Nice one Richard. Just needs a bit more of a stretch to bring out the tail.
