Sun 29 Oct

29 Oct. Central Vic.
These single exposure shots were taken with a canon 550d camera of the active region 2778 on the Sun's SW side this morning. The orange pic was taken thru a Lunt 100 Ha scope (SS) at Ha wavelength. The yellow one was taken thru a WO 81 mm scope at 540 nm (to show the sunspots).
There is some flaring visible in the Ha pic.
Lucky I got up early this morning to take these as a few hours later it was all clouded over.
Thanks for viewing. John W.

Wow John, yes I saw what I now think was flaring this morning. Great to see Sol is getting a good imaging workout this week with such activity from AR2778. The contrast of the black spots on golden yellow is lovely indeed! Bravo!

Well done John!
The activity at the moment make observing the Sun all that more rewarding.

Thanks Ken and others for your comments. Some features on the Sun make it worth imaging and also easier to focus on. Lets hope things pick up as cycle 25 advances. Cheers, John W.
