ISS and Planets

Here are some images I took mid last year of the ISS passing by Jupiter and Mars. The black and whites are the original video frames (with enhanced brightness). I then immediately imaged the planets in colour and later blended them in photoshop.

I cant find my exact records but I think both were done using a Saxon 127mm F7.5 refractor, Televue Powermate 4x and an ASI1600MM-Pro (with the RGB planet images using the ZWO EFW & RGB filters).

I used Calsky to get the alignment location.

I've since learned that I was grossly over-sampling with the 4x so will try the 2x Powermate for any future attempts. I'm now also armed with a cheap 10" F4 Newtonian that should also help to improve the capture frame rate and sensitivity.

Thanks Marc - yes opportunities are very rare and usually involve a fair bit of travel.
