I've never done imaging, but I'd like to start. Forgive the dumb noob question...

Will this compensate for field rotation, allowing a dobsonian scope with alt-az tracking to take long exposures?

The field derotator compensates for field rotation in AltAz scopes.
Exposures up to 5 minutes are possible.

Having said that, there is no substitute for a well aligned EQ mount for Astro photography where you can do much longer exposures.

That sounds like something I could use! My scopes are an equatorial mounted refractor, and a goto dob. I hope to buy a really big dob next.

2" focusers on both. Which of your two field rotators would suit me?
