Anyone using ASI1600 mono un-cooled?

Given the $500 price differential, was wondering if anyone was using the ASI1600 mono model without a cooler?

If yes, any reports?

Alternatively anyone used the cooled mono camera without running the cooling to see what the results are like?

Cheers,
Cam

I forgot to cool one night and it was noisy. But that was back in summer and the evenings were 30+ might stand more of a chance on a single digit cool winter evening...the cooler is worth it, not least for consistent imaging temperature for calibration frames.

Thanks Dunk. I was thinking that was going to be the answer. It'd probably be fine in winter but useless in summer without the cooler.

I'm hoping this weekend to do this test with my asi 120 mc I just finished adding a peltier cooler to it and measured yesterday. turning on it went from 13.2c to steady 20.0c with it off, then dropped to a steady 5.0c with it on. happy with that so keen for a good weather weekend to get outside and image with it and see any difference in performance.
