delay between subs on a DSLR

Just wondering what the recommendation is on the delay between subs on a DSLR?

Currently i have a 15 sec delay set - basically long enough for the image to download with a bit of a "buffer" period. However I've been wondering if there is any real advantage to having a longer gap to allow more time for the sensor to cool back down to ambient between subs. Would say a 1 minute gap (or any delay really other than 15 secs) offer any advantage?

I've just upped my interval from 3 seconds up to 5 seconds.
I capture to card so the delay is minimal.

I used to leave a ten second gap.

I imagine that in the cold and with dark frame capture, you should be fine.
