Mars & Friend

Hi All,

Wide field shot of C/2013 A1 and Mars taken at 8pm last night.

C11 and Hyperstar. F2 @ 20 seconds. Nikon D7000, ISO = 4000.

Looks firey and smokey with the Scorpio dusty region as a backdrop. rather apocalyptic actually...

Richard.

It's faint, at least with my gear, and conditions tonight.
Shot a few with an FLT98 and Flat4, so about 500mm focal length. X-E1 camera at ISO3200, and a 180secs exposure.

hey Richard that hyperstar makes it look easy - now you just need to make a set of darks and flats - i think you can get a lot more out of this?

Thanks JJJ and dave. Yes, Dave you are absolutely correct on that. But in the snap 'n go world of the desperate comet hunter, these niceties rarely get a look in!..

Richard.
