what are you drinking right now?

well i do hope this can have the longevity of the amazing thread
"what are you listening to right now?"
on my travels through this fabulous forum i have come across a mount for sale but in the background there have been more than a few "odd" cases of penfolds bin series wines
so own up! what have you hidden? what have you cellared? do you have a favourite grape or beer style, what have been your most amazing wines or beers?
this should be extremely interesting!

Currently, a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban scotch on the rocks... Earlier, I shared a bottle of 'Pieter Van Gent' 2007 Cab Sav from my latest Mudgee trip, very nice drop... I've often heard them referred to as 'Mudgee mud', but personally, I really like the wines found around the Mudgee area... To each his own..

Tap water... Can't say I'm gaining a vast amount of pleasure from it, but my body prefers it.

After many trips to hospital and two trips to rehab I gave up the drink 17 months ago or there would be a great chance I wouldn't be writing this now. However I'm not a killjoy and like to see others enjoy themselves.

Yesterday arvo/evening would have been suited to gin with the warm sunny weather here. This morning would have been scotch, warm and comforting in the belly.

Scotch was my poison, every waking hour. I've previously read some here enjoy a good scotch. My favourite was Lagavulin 16 year old single malt, beautiful peaty/smoky flavour, but too expensive to drink all the time. Never add ice to a scotch, a few dribbles of water is OK and on some can even enhance the flavour.

I have just finished two very lively drops that were both gifts, which is always a bonus.

The first, Deetswood Sparkling Shiraz from Tenterfield, a real delight. The novelty of bubbly Shiraz doesn't wear thin at any point!

The second was a black edition Cassegrain Nabbiolo, which was nine kinds of wonderful.

I've got a handful of craft beers in the fridge, so they'll make up my next voyage of conquests.

Can we also talk about coffee blends and roasts?

Agreed on all accounts

However, given the our of the day, my drink is currently a macchiato from 50% Ethiopia Gambella and 50% India Elephant Hill.

Cheers
Steffen.

I like a nice Shiraz. Penfolds do some seriously good wines, but their BIN range is getting a bit out of hand price wise. Wirra Wirra's 40th Anniversary Church Block Cab Shiraz Merlot blend is amazingly good (& only $20).

After a recent hot air ballooning trip at Langmeil in the Barossa Valley I've become quite a fan of their Shiraz. It's really great value. But my favourite is the local Bird In Hand "Two In The Bush" Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills. Their Nest Egg was recently awarded world's greatest Shiraz for the 2nd time. Plus they sponsor our footy club, so I have to say that.

I also don't mind a nice cool climate Pinot.

For those of you that like a sparkling red BIH make an amazing sparkling Pinot Noir. Not my fancy, but the ladies think it's great.

Pretty lucky here. I can just go for a 5 - 10 minute drive and get any number of great wines from the local cellar doors.

But right now, I'm going to have an OJ.

For the homebrew coopers, been making it for nearly as long as I have been stargazing (30+ years). Love the international series, drinking the mexican this week.
