Just wondering if worth the upgrade (nearly $500 inc shipping) and what do you get, I've got a g11 but not the tucked motor mod

Trevor,

I cannot answer if the mod is worth it for you, but it was for me.

It has two primary features, it allows the separation of Dec and RA for easier transportation and it allows more time before requiring a meridian flip.

I have one of these and my motors are not the tucked in type. It's handy as it moves you DEC a little further so worth the extra length. Not sure it's $500 though. Are you talking about the clip on one?

The extension kit certainly makes for a neat set up particularly as the declination assembly can be be removed for easier storage and portability. Also the RA axis can be rotated fully through 360 degrees without interfering with the drive motors (at least the inboard type).
