Baader Hyperion with GStar

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had success using the GStar Camera with the Baader Hyperion Eye pieces for afocal projection?

I was wanting to use the Baader Hyperion EP
(http://www.myastroshop.com.au/products/baader-ep.asp)
with a C - T Adaptor (http://www.myastroshop.com.au/produc...sp?id=MAS-005M) to attach the GStar to so I can increase the magnification on objects I want to see?

If so did you need to add any spacers etc to get a focal point on the chip?

Many Thanks

Anthony

34 views and no takers :)

Hi all,

I guess this is not something often done as therewere no responses. Well I bit the bullet and purchased the c-t adaptor and thought I would report back that this works fine, the greater the size in mm of the eye piece the greater the curvature on the chip but I am sure some spacers would fix that, the 3.5, 5 and 8 mm eye pieces are perfect and you really get very good magnification, when I get a dark sky and have it set up I will post some results.

Cheers

Anthony

Thanks for that info Anthony. I have an 8mm Hyperion which I have yet to try with my GSTAR2 which I have had for about 3 months. I do have the adapter that lets me attach the camera to the lens, but opportunity is what I need. eg. clear skies, and clear head! Been very busy of late and often feel just too tired to set up, and when I feel fine, the clouds roll in!

Hi Robert,

I hear you on the timing issue. I am going to buy some of the Pro Star spacers to see if this fixes the curvature on the higher MM eye pieces http://www.myastroshop.com.au/produc...sp?id=MAS-005I.

Will let you know what I find.

Cheers
