VR or no VR that is the question

Ok..................

I have been into computers since building my first 486sx, and I am still updating and loving it, therefore I am still quite into IT, but...........

I HATE and LOATH having to squint at a laptop, small screen in the bright light, and hate being buried in a box or under cover so no suggestions in that direction please.

My son has suggested VR, a decent headset, and believe me he is sooooo into IT especially gaming.

Is there any reason why a laptop monitor could not be replaced with a headset, I appreciate you would occasionally have to look at the keyboard but that is the same with all VR including gaming.

I understand that even now resolution is not good enough when you are focusing on say, prominences and small planets

Thanks
