Warning : Emu Rising

Another from the Tweed night, a couple hrs later and the Emu started to climb right out of Mount Warning, having a look around like a prairie dog !

Very nice Bob.

The Milky Way is starting to reappear already. Was this early in the morning?

Greg.

Great shot Bob ! I've had almost exactly the same image planned for a while now - and I reckon I know almost exactly where you would have taken this from in Limpinwood (there aren't many locations to get this shot are there ! )

Cheers Kelvin and correct on location - I'd spent many hrs on google earth searching for a good posi, even have a list of properties I may door knock on day, because I want the whole emu standing on Mnt Warning, not just the head & shoulders, and as the Milky way rotates the emu moon-walks backward, but not liking my chances considering the need of an elevated and clear area.

Looks like you had a good night Bob.Always good to have a plan.I,m hoping to get some shots of the Milky Way at Hastings Point after the holiday crowd goes. Will need flat seas and no moon .

Not too shabby a night Derek, happy with the 'full frame', quite a notable difference.
Quite dark around Hasting's area, should produce some grouse results.
All the best with it when there
