Broken Hill dark sky sites

I will be in Broken Hill next month (November) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good dark sky spot out of town, where I can park the car well off the road and photograph the night sky. I want to avoid the highways, which will inevitably have trucks on them with their high beams busting open the darkness.

The nine mile road and its only about 5 klms from town.Just 500 mtrs before the bitumen ends pick out a clay pan on the left side of the road.
Yes it is dark / No traffic after dark / Set up is on clay pans so take a ground sheet with you.....dont expect any grass.

Cheers

Excellent! Thanks Kev, that's perfect. A bit of local knowledge is just what I was after. It's also in the opposite direction of the mines, which cast a fair bit of sky glow.

Cheers and beers.
