Greg,

Is the idea to go from USB to ethernet, back to USB? If so I think the Icron Ranger 2204 is a perfect solution. My USB problems have all but vanished since I installed one and replaced long USB extender cables.

Just an update.

I am using a 30 metre Cat 5 Ethernet cable at my dark site observatory and remote desktop in Windows (free) and its working very well.

Nice and warm inside whilst focusing the scope at 3C is a good thing!
