Astrofest 2019 - Sagittarius Mosaic

My fav area of the sky, especially the top right corner.

4 panels of ~2h each. Same rig. FSQ106N/QHY8, G11/lodestar/PHD, captured in nebulosity.

Had to take this one over a number of nights including topping up the panels on the last day for me which was Friday because Wednesday and Thursday decided to be cloudy.

HD here [1920x1196 - 3.2MB]
Big one here [5497x3426 - 23MB]
Huge one here [7696 x 4796 - 43MB]

Enjoy the views.

Wow Marc - that is a stunning pano, the "huge one" was quite breathtaking as I scrolled around it on my diminutive 2560x1440 display - I need to get a bigger one!

The stars look gorgeous edge-to-edge, must have been a heck of a job processing this staggeringly large pano - top stuff.

Cheers

Dennis

Lovely mate. I don't know that I've ever noticed all those lovely dark tendrils around 6559 as much as in this image. Well done.

PS - I'd hit it with a bit of SCNR green in PI as usual

Thanks Dennis. Actually it was quite easy to process. I just colour balanced it in Goodlook and assembled the mosaic with registar and blended in PS.

Thanks Troy. Is SCNR the PI version of HLVG?

Thanks Mike. You'd get it in one fov. Now is a good time to do it as it transits early in the night.

Thanks Martin. I did that 4 panel field 12 years ago with a small 5" newt and had a chance to do it with the FSQ. Lot easier to put it together.
