First light for Borg 55FL f/3.6 - Horsehead to M42 in Ha

Testing the little Borg, unguided on a Star Adventurer with a very quick polar alignment ASI1600mm Pro camera and Chroma 3nm Ha filter. 922 x 30s and 90 x 2s subs over two nights from light-polluted St Lucia. I might have gone a little longer than 30s if I had a better polar alignment but even at 30 seconds the core of M42 was blown out. Processed using a beta version of PixInsight 1.8.6.

Big version here: https://www.astrobin.com/377112/0/

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks, Marc! I'm doing a RBA workshop in Jan 2019 in San Jose as I happen to be in the vicinity for a work trip.

Ta, Andy. It did do a good job. Collecting NB data should be easy. It's the RGB that will be difficult.

Looks great Rick.

Is that a 55mm focal length F3.6? Or is it 55m aperture F3.6 which is a 198mm focal length?

Greg.

Thanks, Greg. It's the latter: 55mm aperture, 200mm focal length.

Sweet. Fluorite lenses are the best. It'd probably work nicely on a mirrorless full frame camera as well.

How much are they?

Greg.
