Get used to it.

In Sydney over 38 years it has almost invariably been totally overcast whenever there was something worth seeing.

In that time just two - TWO - lunar eclipses were not clouded out.

I should add a statistical analysis been done which showed there is a correlation between the night-time cloud cover vs the moons phase. What this shows is that there is a bias towards clear weather between new moon through first quarter and full (pretty useless to us) and a bias to cloud cover between full through third quarter to new moon- when we would like to observe.

Seen quite a few lunar eclipses previously (all in QLD), so not going to be overly perturbed.

Bit of a weird night for me anyway with my 94 year old Aunt passing away

I was so excited a couple of weeks ago. The weather had been good for so long. I thought - FINALLY I will see an eclipse, but no...of course not!

Too soon, Joe. Totality starts 1151 and ends 0106. Im'll take a look outside at 12 and 0100.

But there's a roaring southerly blowing in from the sea along the whole eastern coast from Victoria to Brisbane, which means its pointless even thinking about setting up. We live on the high point here and get the sea breeze.
