Rather than openning another thread may I ask here...how many 30 second captures at 24 meg would be the max for DSS.
I think I have done 120 which surprised me.

I'm pretty sure that DSS will keep right on trucking until your comp's
memory is all used up, so I suppose you could get a rough idea by dividing
the amount of unused megs you have in your comp's memory by 24.

I think that it actually uses not only RAM but also your hard drive as a temporary memory. So it will do LOTS of images but slowly.

I'm pretty sure the important memory is your hard drive, not the RAM.
I have used about 10% of my comp's memory, which leaves about 900Gb
available, so at just over 40 24Mb frames to a gigabyte, that would seem to be about 36000 frames, which would keep you going for a while, assuming
that your hard drive is the same size as mine.
Having said all this, I could be totally wrong, as I only saw a computer for the first time last week.

I often use an external mouse on my laptop. When I get random mouse clicks and pointer movements It’s because I’ve forgotten to disable the trackpad, and I’m unknowingly bumping it.

I have dropped to taking medium shots less meg ...just while I am doing this thirty second approach..
But I have managed 137 stack so far.
I might have a different approach up North with no sky glow...plus seeking the CSP sure helps to polar align...so auto guide shouls be happy...
