Dusty Ara

This is actually left over SPSP data that I attempted to process at the time but quickly threw into the too-hard basket. I decided to have another go at it a few days ago and was finally able to come up with something I'm reasonably happy with.

t was a quick capture of 15 x 90 second ISO 400 un-guided subs on the Saturday evening (the only clear sky of the star party) before the clouds rolled back in. As I had my modded DSLR attached to the scope, I used an un-modded DSLR and Samyang 135mm f2 lens to capture this. Obviously the Ha in this image isn't that extensive but with the star clouds and obscuring dust it makes for a somewhat interesting field I think.

Thanks Marc!

Living in the city, SPSP is my number one dark sky imaging opportunity of the year so yeah it was disappointing this year. We've been lucky the last few years however.

I tried to make the most of it by taking two mounts and running two cameras but as my attention was split between the two I mucked up the focus on the big scope and that data is pretty much useless.
